Compare Penelope the Perky Peach and Sadie Dairy Farmer on size, material, and personality to pick the right handmade keychain.
Quick answer
Choose Penelope the Perky Peach if you want a tiny, mood-boosting fruit character that clips easily to a bag. Choose Sadie Dairy Farmer if you prefer a larger, farm-themed doll with a sister-brother story. Both are handmade from polymer clay and coated with UV resin, so the real decision comes down to size and theme.
Size and presence: what you actually carry
Penelope is about 1 inch (2.5 cm) tall, excluding the chain. That makes her a subtle charm you can add to a keyring, zipper pull, or small pouch without adding bulk. Sadie stands just over 1.5 inches (4 cm) tall, so she is noticeably larger and reads more like a small figurine than a tiny charm. If you want a character that gets noticed on a backpack, Sadie has more visual weight. If you want something that disappears into a pocket, Penelope is the lighter choice.
Material and care: what keeps them looking good
Both Penelope and Sadie are handmade with polymer clay and coated with UV resin. That resin layer adds a glossy finish and some protection against everyday handling, but it is not a hard shell. To avoid scratches, keep them away from keys or metal clips that rub directly against the surface. A soft pouch or a dedicated keyring loop helps. Because each piece is handmade, small variations in shape and color are normal and part of the charm, not a defect.
Personality and theme: fruit vs farm
Penelope is described as kind, pleasant, and good at boosting your spirits, with a bright color and positive personality. She fits a fruit-themed collection or a small pick-me-up gift. Sadie is a dairy farmer and the sister of Brodie, a Highland cow. She belongs to a farm story that includes other characters like Darla the Pink Farmer Bunny. If you already own or plan to gift Brodie or Darla, Sadie keeps the narrative consistent. If you want a standalone cheerful fruit, Penelope works on her own.
Trade-offs to weigh
- Size vs. subtlety: Penelope is about 1 inch tall; Sadie is just over 1.5 inches tall. Smaller is less obtrusive but easier to lose. Pick Penelope for a discreet charm, Sadie for a more visible accessory.
- Story vs. standalone: Sadie is part of a farm family with Brodie and Darla. Penelope is a solo fruit character. Choose Sadie to build a set; choose Penelope for a simple, cheerful gift.
- Handmade variation vs. consistency: Both are handmade from polymer clay, so no two are identical. The UV resin coating adds shine but can show wear over time. Accept small differences as part of the handmade appeal; handle with care to keep the finish intact.
